What others say about Bloom
Earth could do with plenty more people like Jackie
I was fortunate to meet Jackie Thomas-Teague at a BNI network meeting a few years ago. Drawn to a sharp intellect and even sharper wit. It wasn’t long before I counted her a friend, followed by seeing her as someone I could seek an opinion and trust any advice gleaned.
Part of Jackie’s character is simply when something needs doing Jackie always strives to do it to a high standard. It would be incomplete at level OK. Hence the number of achievements to her name. An example, Jackie won NZ referrer of the year, being responsible for the largest amount of business referred through BNI (Business Network International). More recently being the runner-up in the Landlord of the Year.
A small contribution to Jackie’s achievement was when I got to work with Jackie as my client when she approached me regarding the improvement of her rental properties. Jackie decided that merely meeting the new government standards for rentals was not the finish line. Instead, a catalyst to go further, to be better than most. So after doing the ceiling and underfloor insulation, Jackie commissioned us (Insulmax) to insulate all of her property’s external walls in essence closing the thermal envelope properly, therefore getting the full benefits from the improvements already done to meet standards. Setting her properties apart from the norm.
I was pleased when she reported back to me that the properties were better for the occupants. I was thrilled when she then added how the quality of the Tennant was higher, they tended to have longer tenancies and were paying higher rents, which was more than covering the outlay getting a better return on the investment using actual data to show it. This has of course helped other landlords follow in her footsteps.
Another part of Jackie’s character I appreciate is that the environment is included in the important factors when making decisions showing it is possible to get the balance right when weighing: better for tenants, better for wallets, and better for the environment. This wee marble called Earth could do with plenty more people like Jackie.
If you are a landlord, a Tennant, or a building, you will be in good hands with Jackie and Bloom Property Management.

I appreciated knowing what Jackie does with difficult tenants
The seminar was really good. I appreciated knowing what Jackie does with difficult tenants and I will try some of those tricks next time. I have used her letter template for some rent arrears which got a much better response than the 14-day notice letter from tenancy services that I had adjusted a bit myself. Thanks for organising.

It was really valuable to hear how someone else has managed to thrive
I thought it was really valuable even as someone who’s been a do-it-yourself landlord property manager with more than 20 years experience to hear how someone else has managed to not only survive but thrive despite the ups and downs. Only sorry I didn’t have the opportunity to network more with the other property owners who attended as I had to leave earlier. Would certainly be more than happy to attend similar presentations in future.

Loved the fact Jackie thinks of her tenants as customers and treats them well
Thanks for inviting us to the Property Meeting this morning, I thought it was an excellent presentation and Jackie was really down to earth and loved the fact she thinks of her tenants as customers and treats them well, was one of the best property presentations I’ve seen.
